Yes, Yes, Yes, finnaly we got the last and final yes from our bank.
I almost couldn't eat and yesterday I got early home from work because I was so nervous. Yesterday was the longest day of my live. After a few calls we got the final email with the big YES. I don't think I felt ever so happy.
The first time I bought a house was 14 years ago when I was 22. It was so easy then. Now it is much harder to get a yes from the bank. The house we are now going to buy has been empty for about 6 years. The people who owned the house before did a lot of work on it, but they never lived in it. We also have to do a lot of work, but we don't mind. Now we have a lot of space for us, for our cats, our doggies and our cars. In about 5 weeks we will sign the papers and get the keys and then the big move will start. :)
Here is a little sneak-preview. Photo's are from the website where it was on for sale.
Now we are going to get some boxes and start packing.

Nervous wreck!
I became a nervous wreck the last weeks. I almost don't have any time to surf the internet. I am checking my email on my phone. The house we are trying to buy is a ten minute drive from my parents house, but an hour and a half from where we are living now. So we spend a lot of time in the car driving to the house selling people and the mortgage people. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow we will get the final yes or no from the bank. And I so nervous..... My hands are shaking and sometimes it feels just like I cann't breath anymore.
And I am so sorry that I didn't stop by you all lately. I am going to make it good by doing a give away soon. :)
Big hug to all of you and when we get an answer from the bank I will let you know!

A fast one. :)
I am sorry that I didn't stop by your blogs lately but I (we) have a good excuse for it.
We are trying to buy a house.....
Before we went on holiday it came on sale. We went looking at it when we came back, and it was just the right place for us.
So we made an offer and they said yes (after a day) and now we are looking for a good mortgage. We have some-one who is checking everything for us.
It is a very exciting time for us. When everything goes right we can move in before X-mas. :)
I am happy, but also very stressy.
That's all for now, and next time I will stop by again and I will also show you my new coat. ;D

Food addict....
Jep I am a food addict. I love to cook and bake and when we are having friends over for diner I am cooking from the early morning till diner time. I love to make cupcake's (cinnamon swirls are my favorite), creme brulee, canneloni... But I also love to eat. So over the years I put on some weight. Not that it was a big problem. For 27 years I was really skinny, size less then zero, but I could eat everything without getting bigger. I was really glad when I finally got some curves.
But now I am having a big problem with my feet and back. Yesterday I went to see the doctor and now I have to go to physiotherapy and I have to lose a lot of weight..... I know I know there are much worser things and it isn't the end of the world, but it is going to be hard for a food addict like me. So now you will have read about me and my food-addiction and trying to lose weight also. Poor you. :)
But also a bit good news. We went to a carboot-sale on sunday and I found some love things.

About (not so girlie) Cars and Meetings.
Since I was a young girl I am in love with cars. Not the modern one's, although I really love my Volvo....
I bought my first car even without having a driving-licence. It was a Ford Capri. Actually I still own 2 Capri's now.... And both of the baby's need work before hitting the road again.
When I met boyfriend my dream of owning an American became reality. Boyfriend already had one, and he also owned and sold a lot of beauty's. On this moment we have 5 "stayers" and 3 "come and gone'rs".
I love the sound of the V8's and feel the power when you hit the pedal. I am a pedal to the metal girl. ;)
What I also love are the meetings. The Custom Culture meetings. The RockaBilly meetings. The regular car-meetings. There is so much to see, boys and girls all dressed up. Beautifull cars. The stalls that are selling great dresses and stuff. But now, the summer is coming to an end and so is the meeting season.... I will miss the cars and people. But now maybe I will find some time to work on my sweet project. :)

Me and our 1958 Plymouth Fury Suburban with the famous Christine nose.
Photo made by our great friend. Matthijs Dijk
Our 1958 Pontiac Chieftain DeLuxe, who was my daily last year.
My "project" a 1957 Dodge Custom Royal
It still needs a lot of work..... :( But now I have a pair of Fins!
This is the 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook who was my first American Car.
I bought it from our good friend Ton and with boyfriend as co-owner.
It was standing in a barn for over 13 years when we saved it.
On this photo she is back on the road for the first time, after more then 13 years and a lot of love and work.
I traded her last year for the Dodge. She is now used for wedding car.
Bad Iphone shots from Bottrop Custom Kulture.
And a funny one from Matthijs Dijk
Sweet kisses to all! ;)

I need more space....
A nice busy week. Our doggie, Flos, needed an operation so it wasn't a good start of the week. Flos is already better now, thank God.
We went to check houses and revisited another one who we like very much.... So it is getting a bit more seriously now.
I was nice to relax a little bit at a bootsale. :)
Found some lovely items.
Today there was a bootsale at our place and we went to it. I was looking for a "longneckhead" (don't know how to call them) for a long while now and I gave up hope to find one that was in my budget. And there they were..... Two off them..... My first thought was that they might be to expensive... But these were so cheap!!! For 8.50 euro I bought them both, and now I am the proud owner of 2 longneckheads from the seventies. :)
I only don't know yet where to put them.
Not vintage but ow so beautifull....
Did I already mention that my great boyfriend owned his own vintages-shop and knows a lot about vintage items? He is a good help in my vintage huntings. So with this coat. First I thought it was a new one. It is in such a good state, but the sewing was different then it is done now. There is horse-hair in the collar. It is from the 1940ties/1950ties. But in such a good condition, and warm in the winter!

Also found this wonderfull and complete dressingtable-set.
And I got such a sweet gift from a wonderfull lady... I don't know her name but I see her often on bootsale's. She is always selling the most gorgeous things for great prices. Now she had a lovely vintage purse and she gave it to me as a present, because I already bought so much of her stuff. I love this woman! Next time I will make a photo of us both. She is such a great and beautifull lady.My funny-shopping-bag! I couldn't resist it..... It was just to funny!

The Dodge....
Holidays are over and I am back at work for a week now. Holidays are to short! I love my job, but I love holidays more... :)
Overhere the weather is so nasty. It is raining now for days. This afternoon the camper-unit is going to his winter-sleeping-place so we can use the pick-up again as a regular car. I've made some photo's this morning. We were making it ready to go, so it is a bit messy and all the lovely things like my fake-flowers are already in storage. It is still not finished yet. We have some more idea's, but we will wait till next spring to do it.
Here we go.
The Kitchen
The shower, and there is also a toilet and sink.
When boyfriend sold the Hobby 600 (also a camper) I really could cry, till he showed me this unit. It is 40 years old, almost as old as the Dodge. From the outside it looks a bit crappy, but I love the inside. We are trying to give it a little bit of a tiki-style, but we aren't finished yet. Now we also can go in style to meetings. :)
Next time a bit about meetings....

It's been a while.......
Ow I know, it has been to long time since my last post.... A lot happened and we have been very busy with looking for another house, our cars and meetings, spending time with lovely friends, enjoying our holidays and sadly spending time with my beloved dad who's cancer came back. Last year he got non-hodgkins and thanks to chemo he got better but now it came back and he is back on chemo. We have good hope....
Yes, we also did some vintage hunting and we brought back a lot of stuff to our house. That's one of the reasons why we are looking for a bigger house. :) We also need more space for our cars. Now we found one that could be perfect for us, and we are going to try to buy it. This is also why I am "cleaning" up my house and sell the things I don't use anymore.
I am also going to sell a lot of my vintage clothing. Dresses, shoes, bags, thingy's...... I will keep you posted, or check my Marktplaats. My sellings
Our holliday was great. We went to France (again) and did the Normandie-tour. It was the first time we went with the pick-up. Last year boyfriend sold our camper and bought a camper-unit for the pick-up.
I know, it doesn't look that great from the outside. But the inside is cool! Next time I will post photo's of the inside. We had a lot of thumb's up when we were on the road. Next time a holliday special!
That's all for now.

Rock around the Vintage shop.
Busy days overhere. A company called me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. So I have a new job. :)
Yeah!
Last week we had a great day at Rock around the Juxebox in Rosmalen. Just a ten minute drive from our house. People are selling their 40's', 50's and 60's stuff. New and vintage clothes. Bands are playing. Just a great day with nice weather and lovely people. It was also a big day for our new car Christian. (He's got the famous Christine front) This was his first meeting with his new owner.
I wished I had a lot of more money to spend that day. But maybe it was better that I didn't. There was so much that I liked! Best thing I found was the vintage Lomo Diana F in box. Such a sweety.
Thanks to boyfriend who made this photo from me with the Diana and Christian. (Don't watch my shoes. It was an outdoors event and you couldn't walk on the bumpy grass with high heels, I've tried it :( )
I also found a lovely looking vintage dress.
Yesterday we had to pick up some things for the camper and we made a stop at two stores that clean houses. They clean-up houses from people that are moving or people who died and most of the time they can take all the stuff that is left in those houses. Sometime's it is really sad to see things, such as photo-albums that nobody wants. But they also have a lot of great thingy's that I love! Boyfriend found some old 120 film that will be perfect for my Diana camera.
Yeah!

Some sweet looking shoes, satin and croc-leather.
A bowl and teapot for my Ragout crockery collection.
Some vintage window thingy's for the new bedroom.
And there is a lot more, like 6 different dresses. Little problem is that I love my iphone, but the photo's are really crap. And today I am way to lazy to get my camera out of the bag. So the rest will follow later. :)
Next week will be busy as well. I have to put a lot of vintage bags, shoes, boots and the rest up for sale. It's decluttering time! So watch my Marktplaats (on the right) when you need something. :)

To sell or not to sell....that's the question....Part one
We are going to re-decorate our bedroom and my dressroom. There are already a lot of new vintage thingy's waiting for their new spot. But our little house is already looking like a fully stuffed vintage shop, so I have to sell some things. Some things are easy to let go, some stuff will go into the storage and some things... I don't know what to do with them. To sell or not to sell... Like these 1947 sewing magazine's. I have them for a long time, but I can not sew. (I love to learn it) They are just laying around here. Best thing is that they are complete.. Here is one from the four magazine's. The others will follow later... xx

Gasoline and Easter Eggs....
Sometimes I wish my live was a little bit more easy going. The days are way to short for me. And the weekends.... With one blink of my eye's it's monday again. Last weekend we had 3 days off from work. And I was so glad to get back to work, so I could relax a little bit. :)
Saturday we had the big car-swap. It was exciting, but now we have 5 "new" Americans. It was a 2 hour drive back home...Pfffff One was sold already one day later to my daddy. And I am driving now a '72 Chrysler with 440BB as daily till it is sold, and then the Pontiac will come out of the garage again. Yeah.
Sunday, EasterSunday. My parents came over. We live about 120Km's from each other and I miss them. First we went to the carbootsale at the Geffens Plas, but it was way to hot. I bought a few old photo-camera's. So glad we got home again. My dad had a test-drive in a great looking old Dodge Pick-up and he bought it. After that we had a lovely lunch with some home-made coockie's, muffins and sand-wiches. (I love to cook) Great view at the apple blossom and a beautifull sunny day.... and I was glad to see my mom and dad again.
Monday's we had to bring the Pick-up to my dad and had a great bbq with my sister and her kids. :) So again a long drive....
I didn't get enough sleep this weekend and I hope to catch it up later......
Next blog I will show you a few sewwing magazine's from 1947. Found them on a flea-market....

Whole lotta Rosie
My head is a bit fluffy from all the work and the new programm wich we are going to use on the new machine's. I love my job. It is not a job that a lot of girls choose to do. I am a CNC-miller....
In the old days when the men went to join the army in WWII, women had to take over their jobs in the factory's. Many thanks to these great women, who build planes and machine's and showed the world that you don't have to be a man to do this. But I am not jealous of them. The work was hard and tough. The machine's big and heavy..... It was a dirty job...

Nowadays the job is much easier. Instead of the heavy convential machine's there are now very nice computerizes machine's. The job is so much better then it was 70 years ago. Most of the time you are sitting behind the computer and making programms for the machine's. The machine is now a robot and you have to tell him what to do.
Just like the Rosie's I've worked for a big company that made parts of airplane- and aerospace-company's. It feels so great to hold a part of a Joint Strike Fighter in your hands. It was a great time. Now I am working at a nice little company just around the corner, and we are busy with a big new project. It is very exciting and I have to learn a lot of new things.
I used to do a lot for women in technic jobs. I was a role model for schools and did a lot of interviews and photoshoots for different kind of magazines. Now I don't have the time for this anymore and I miss it a little bit. Here is an old photo of my (please don't watch my hair or my broken nose or so.) from 2 years ago. Last week it was in the FNV magazine. :(
For now.... I am going to enjoy my weekend! Finally.... :)
